The 3 Pillars of Properly Prepared Pizza
We've found that regardless of how awesome your restaurant machinery is, it's the hands of the makers that breathe life into the food that gives us life. Few foods are so eternally life-giving as pizza.
A study in 2016 confirmed that 41% of people eat pizza at least once a week. We're willing to bet that number is really higher than 41% and that it's only growing. With that in mind, a lot of pizza is being eaten around the country. It's a pity that many of those pizzas aren't up to snuff with the three pillars of pizza.
We won't let you stumble forward blindly. It doesn't matter if you've got an industrial dough mixer churning out tens of thousands of pizzas per week, these are the chief commandments of cookery to remember.
Thou shalt adhese thy cheese
Have you ever picked up a piece of pizza and excitedly tried to take a bite, only to have the entire layer of cheese (complete with toppings) slide off into a sad heap on your plate? It's an incredibly saddening experience. One that can be avoided! Cheese melting close to the crust properly sticks dough-to-dairy and is paramount in the connectivity that preserves the integrity of pizza adhesion throughout your slice.
Thou shalt bake thy dough
You've got secret ingredients, industrial dough mixer machines, and electric dough rolling machines. Your dough preparation game is strong. But it doesn't matter how strong your dough game is because if you're not baking it long enough, and someone bites into a half-baked slice, their experience just went through the grinder. Take the time to supply sufficient crisp.
Thou shalt disperse thy toppings
You didn't get that professional meat grinder to keep on display. Your toppings (meat and veggies) need to be treated with the same amount of care in presentation as you've put into their preparation. Maintaining a balanced spread of toppings is the final pillar of ensuring pizza perfection that flows evenly between each bite. Once these three have been performed together, you've made yourself a true pizza.
Too many places throw pizzas together like a rushed outfit in the dark only to have their poor judgment exposed in the light of day. Remember the pillars and treat each pizza like the culinary queen it was meant to be.
