Crispy Creations: A Look at 3 Methods of Deep Frying
Chefs around the world have perfected various cooking methods. However, one stands out among the rest: deep frying. We can’t deny it’s one of the tastiest cooking methods out there, and it’s been refined to an exact science. You can use many methods to make crispy creations. Look at these three methods of deep frying.
Swimming Technique
The swimming technique is easy, though it’s a delicate process. It involves dropping food into a pot of oil or hot fry while using a pair of tongs, a spider, or another tool that prevents you from touching the oil. When you drop the food into the oil, it sinks to the bottom of the container and floats to the surface, cooking along the way. After the food floats to the surface, gently flip it to get an even fry. If you like to batter your food, the swimming technique is the perfect deep-frying method.
Single Basket Technique
With this technique, you don’t have to worry about the mess that may occur with the swimming method. You’ll need a few extra pieces of equipment, but you won’t have to break the bank to fry your food. All you need is a frying basket! Place the food into the frying basket before lowering it into the hot oil. It will remain in the confines of the basket during the entire cooking process.
Double Basket Method
With the double basket method, place the second basket on top of the first after dropping in the food. Then, submerge everything completely in oil to cook the food. With the double basket method, you can expect greater control over the way you fry food. It also lets you fry food at a high temperature, making it crispier. You can’t go wrong with the double basket method when trying new methods to deep fry your crispy creations.
